Eva Longoria with her Magnum

We all know Eva Longoria, the sexy petite actress from hit TV series Desperate Housewives likes her Pepsi. Recently, she’s featured in a microsite for Magnum Icecream called Magnum Manor.

I’m a bit appalled really. How can someone consume huge amounts of sugar and yet still look damn good? Yup, we’ve seen it before too – Elizabeth Hurley taking a bite out of a crunchy yummy chocolate “ooooooohhhhhh” Magnum. And let’s not forget Jessica Simpson in the cheesy Pizza Hut ads selling cheese bites? Are we to believe that we will look good like these girls by consuming fatty foods?

I think too many times brands use the wrong celebrities and these people aren’t cheap either. Certain celebrities are not believable at all to the product they are associated with.

Here are some other female celebrity endorsements that might have gone wrong:

Kirstie Alley with Jenny Craig = her weight still fluctuates

Britney Spears with Pepsi = she was caught drinking Coke

Sarah Jessica Parker with Garnier = she was recently voted the Worlds UN-sexiest Celebrity

  1. Kate Moss gets through it all. No matter how many times she messes up, she still gets the gig!

  2. I don’t mind watching Eva Longoria. In fact would far prefer that than the reality of icecream munchin peoples!

  3. Hey Charmaine, I agree, particularly about Kirstie Alley. Mind you its nothing a little Photoshop work can’t fix… ;-)

  4. I would really like to see Angelina Jolie be the face of some baby brands, say…Huggies Nappies.

  5. I disagree about SJP. She was voted the worlds unsexiest woman by one mens magazine only. Women still see her as Carrie Bradshaw and someone to aspire to be (as much as or more than any other female celebrity), and therefore I think Garnier got it right when considering their target audience.

As for Liz Hurley – she’ll never work in anything!
